Developed by combining only the advantages of the activated sludge processing and biofilm
processing, the medium is advanced designed with greater effective surface and easy air
penetration. Organic matters and nutrient salts that are formed on the medium surface are
processed either by directly injecting air into the medium reactor or by floating the medium,
through mechanical or hydraulic mean.
The process is uniquely characterized by requiring
smaller reactor size as the medium is able to retain high-concentrate bio film, non-clog
during the stationary state and non-expansion phenomenon, which is commonly found in
activated sludge processing. It is economically sound as it requires no new facility to be
erected,
but many forms of existing facility can be utilized. The process is proven to be an
efficient method in dealing with organic matters and nutrient salts (Nitrogen, Phosphorous). |
